The Pacific Northwest region, which includes states such as Washington, Oregon, and Northern California, is particularly well-known for Bigfoot sightings, with many people claiming to have seen the creature while hiking or camping in remote areas.
The numerous Bigfoot sightings prompted the (now-defunct) North American Wildlife Research Team, to erect a Bigfoot trap in Southern Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest back in 1974. The only one of its kind in the United States.
